The brief
A band from Queens wanted something surreal — hard to understand, hard to wrap your head around — with no crew, no studio, and no budget for either. The whole pipeline — look, build, animation, light, cut — had to fit inside one person. I was fully on board.
Production notes
Designed the look and built every asset in the frame.
Built the surreal style with multiple render passes — hatching and halftone shading that reacts to light, in the spirit of Into the Spider-Verse.
Gave the models a painterly surface by reworking their normal maps: layers of noise, baked in.
Animated, lit, and rendered 2+ minutes of finished footage, cut the edit to the track, and delivered the master.
Stayed on schedule alone — the same discipline as 62 freelance projects with a 100% on-time record.
